A very happy birthday to [info] sugardivalish !! </span>

May you get all that you wish for and more. May you live to be 100 years, with one extra year to repent. And may the saddest day of your future be no worse than the happiest day of your past.

1. Reply to this post and I'll assign you a letter.
2. List (and upload, if you feel like it) five songs that start with that letter.
3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.

[info]kaylle gave me the letter A. Under cuts (if this works properly) are youtube vids of the songs, if you don't know them! This was actually a bit harder to do than I imagined.

I could not do the letter A without first mentioning one of my favourite Counting Crows (if not favourite of all time) songs:

1. Anna Begins - Counting Crows )

from the very beginning of this song with the lyrics "My friend assures me, it's all or nothing, but I am not worried. I am not overly concerned." This song hooks me in.

And then there's this line, "Everytime she sneezes I believe it's love." It reminds me of a time when we were seven and boys were icky and I punched Quinn (my husband) in the face for one reason or another. To this day, he says that's when he realized that he'd love me forever. Seriously? I just gave you two black eyes and a bloody nose, and *that's* when you've pledged your heart to me for life? What a sick, masochistic lion. ;) And he's all mine!

2.>Alone - Heart )

There's a reason that this song, written more than twenty years ago, has been covered by everyone and their mother. It's a freaking fantastic song!

3.> Ants Marching - Dave Matthews )

A song about people who lead a monotonous life, doing the same things the same way, day after day. They never take risks and are content living this way until they die. Something to think about.

4.> All I Want - Toad The Wet Sprocket )

While not my fav Toad song, I'm pretty sure it was the reason I bought the album. "Nothings so loud, as hearing when we lie. The truth is not kind, and you've said neither am i." The lyrics do speak to life... I like it.

5.> Amhran na bhFiann )

This is the way it's meant to be heard! Always brings a little tear to my eye.

I've been really quiet this past year. Sorry about that.

Neil Patrick Harris hosted SNL last night, and this skit tickles me more than it ever should!!

You know ,  I feel like I should post just to prove that I think this strike is silly.  I really don't have anything interesting to say other than the fact I'm very very tired, and don't want to have to go back to work for another 12 hours.   And I absolutley know that once I lay down to nip a nap, a call will come through and I'll be extra cranky.

Oh well.

Mostly, I just want to say I've been a account plus member by choice for as long as they've been around, and really, it's no big deal.  I hardly even notice the ADs anymore.

hmm... that;s all.  Hope everyone is having a nice Good Friday.

There are few things I enjoy more than my coffee breaks.  Yes, I *actually* drink coffee on my coffee breaks.  It's a blissful time where everyone knows exactly where I am, but in the same time, NO ONE ever bothers me with trivial stuff.  I used to take my coffee to go and sit in my office, but no one seemed to understand the whole 'break' part of the scenario, so now I sit in the cafe and enjoy.

I forgot the earbuds so that I could listen to some nice music and overheard this gem of a conversation:
"OH MY GAWD!!!  I used to play doctor with MY barbies, too!!!"  I think half the clientel turned and went, "Duh!"

And to think, I was almost going to give up coffee for lent.  pshaw!!

Alas, the ticket lotto tonite was a bust.

Well, there's always friday night.  Gotta stay hopeful.

Quote of the nite:  "You know, you guys can clap and make some noise for the winners... even if you don't mean it."

I guess this means I'm going to have to cook dinner now.  :(

So, I was lucky enough to have a wonderful friend who shared her tickets with me to the sold out production of Wicked last week, and I LOVED it.  It was completely unlike anything I ever expected.  It's running here in Cincinnati until this Sunday.  However, this week my mum is in the country and I want to surprise her by taking her (mostly since I know she'd never in a thousand years ever jump on the ferrry to London and see it herself.)  The Aronoff (the theatre) has a lottery system for day of show tickets that I've never attempted... that is until today.

The deal is:  Get to the theatre two and a half hours before showtime, put your name in a drum and a half hour later they pull names.  Up to two tickets can be yours for the bargain price of 25$ each.  EEEE!

However, I really was banking on some bad weather here.  Yesterday we had high winds, rain and dropping temperatures.  Add to that the promise of ice and snow, and I thought for sure I'd be the only one, uh, stupid smart enough to go downtown to be in the lottery.   Now, it's cold, but not icy or snowy at all.  So I have to rely on the old Donnelly luck and the act of crossing my fingers to get what I want.

Wednesday seems like the best chance I have for a light lottery showing, but I have plans to hit 4 more lotterys before Sunday if I have to.  I will be a victor in this one way or another.  :)

And of course, I haven't actually mentioned this to dear Abigael, for fear of not winnning any tickets all week.  I'd hate to get my mam's hopes up for naught.

Wish me luck!  I shall keep you posted on the results.

Meme stolen from [info]speckleberry along with a few others on my flist
Follow these easy steps!
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first article title on the page is the name of your band.

2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.

3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4. Use your graphics program of choice to throw them together, and post the result as a comment in this post. Also, pass it along in your own journal because it's more amusing that way.
